Week 10

 Week 10: November 7-11

Academic Updates

We are learning about:

  • S blends

  • Sequence of events in fiction and nonfiction text

  • Nouns, verbs, and adjectives

  • Phases of the moon and the night sky

  • Various word problems and strategies for solving

  • The language, “find the difference”

  • Gratitude

  • Veterans

Report cards  will be available later this month.  In order to prepare, teachers will be conducting a variety of assessments in the next two weeks.

Scheduling  We are experimenting with our daily schedule by flip flopping math and reading times.  We are always looking for the best ways to maximize student interest and engagement, and to create the best environment for student success.  The “test drive” this week and potential permanent change if it goes well may be uncomfortable for some students.

Ask Your Firstie…

  • What books are you reading in class?

  • What is your teacher reading to you in class?

  • What does the moon look like tonight?

  • What is the sequence of our morning routines at home? After school? Bedtime?
