Academic Updates

We are working on:

  • Digraph: ck

  • Finishing up our small moment stories

  • Reading “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” and analyzing the characters

  • Creating a bridge to use in retelling the billy goats story

  • Non-fiction read alouds about goats

  • Non-fiction writing

  • Creating a scarecrow and writing about it

  • Comparison story problems

  • Adding to and taking from story problems

  • Solving for the unknown

  • What is something you did lately that is creative?

  • Can you solve this? You invite Stan over for dinner and he brings friends.  All together you have 4 guests for dinner.  How many friends did Stan bring to dinner?

Welcome!

  September 6–9 Welcome! We had so much fun at the Ice Cream Social connecting names and faces! We can’t wait to get to know our students better in the coming days and weeks. At Back to School Night, on September 19, we will have a chance to talk with parents and share all the exciting things about 1st grade.  For questions or concerns, we are available via email (see below).
