Academic Updates:

This week we are working on….

  • The idea of loving to learn

  • Adding 10s 

  • Making inferences using schema and clues

  • Long A spelling patterns (Sneaky E plus ai and ay in words such as take, play, train, etc.)

  • Reestablishing our routines and procedures 

  • Understanding sounds and light

  • Setting goals 


Things to work on at home:

  • Labeling winter gear

  • Shoe tying skills

  • Reading daily!

  • Addition and subtraction flashcards

  • Skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s

  • Reviewing any papers that come home

  September 6–9 Welcome! We had so much fun at the Ice Cream Social connecting names and faces! We can’t wait to get to know our students better in the coming days and weeks. At Back to School Night, on September 19, we will have a chance to talk with parents and share all the exciting things about 1st grade.  For questions or concerns, we are available via email (see below).
