Week 19

 Week 19: January 23-27

Academic Updates

We are working on:

  • Long o patterns in words such as old, cold, cone, hope, etc.

  • Inferring and summarizing

  • Opinion writing

  • Estimation

  • Counting large collections

  • Adding and subtracting 10s

  • Identifying and appreciating the good in others

Read IN!

On Wednesday we will be having a Read In. This is a fun way for Firsties to build their reading stamina and for us to reinforce that reading is fun.  We will spend a block of the day doing nothing but…reading! To make it special, students may bring a clear, resealable drink; snack; blanket or beach towel; pillow; and books from home. Students must be able to carry whatever they bring.  Please label their supplies with their name and please keep stuffed animals at home.

Tuesday is National Compliment Day

We will be practicing giving and receiving compliments.  Please join us at home!

Reminder-no Toys

Please remind your Firstie that toys should stay at home. We have had a lot of toys finding their way to school in the past couple of weeks, especially Pokemon cards. The distraction this causes cannot be overstated.
