Week 31

 Week 31: April 24-28

Field Trip

Thank you for the quick response regarding lunches for our field trip!

On May 3rd we will leave Lincoln School shortly after 10:00AM, arriving at Sarett around 10:30AM. Parents are welcome to meet us at the nature center. The fee for parents to attend is $5 which you can pay upon arrival.  Please click here to let us know if you’re able to make it.

Family project

We have been working hard on our animal projects! We are studying habitats, predators, physical characteristics, geographic locations, special talents, and food needs.  In class, students are writing all about their animals as well as creating a class book. To further demonstrate understanding, we ask that each child create one of the following at home: a diorama, a poster, or a model of their animal.  Information about this came home on April 7.

Weather

Michigan is crazy this time of year!  We go outside three times each day and the weather can vary drastically from one recess to the next.  Please send your firstie in layers so we can avoid having kiddos that are too hot or too cold. It is very helpful if students have water bottles with them on hot days. Also, please remember gym shoes on the appropriate day.

NWEA

Our final NWEA testing of the year will occur the weeks of May 1 and 8.  On May 3rd students will complete the reading portion and May 10th will be the math. We may split the testing days up if needed in the event some students need more time.
