 Week 28: April 3-7


Field Trip

On Wednesday, May 3rd we will be taking a field trip to Sarett Nature Center. Busses leave school at 10:00 and return to school around 1:00pm.  Parents are welcome to meet us at Sarett at 10:30. We will have a sack lunch at the nature center.  

**Please complete the form that came home on Friday and return it to school on Monday, April 3rd. This will allow the kitchen staff time to make all necessary arrangements. 


Academic Update

We are working on:

  • Informational writing

  • Bossy R: ir, er, and ur patterns in words like bird, term, verb, blurt, and hurt

  • Developing our speaking and reading vocabulary

  • Cheering on other people’s successes

  • Addition and subtraction fluency

  • Measurement

  • Understanding and using terminology like length, width, height, longer, shorter, wider, narrower, farther, nearer, heavier, lighter 

  • Comparative adjectives

  Week 2: September 12-16 Wow!  What an amazing first week of 1st Grade! Getting to Know You Last week we shared this digital survey.  Thank you to everybody who completed it.  If you haven’t yet, please find a few minutes to answer the questions and submit it.  You have also received paper “get to know you” forms. We apologize for all the questions, especially those that seem redundant. We really appreciate all the information we can gather to help us meet the needs of all our Firsties.
